CARNIVAL in the Streets!
Time & Location
About the Event
Emergency Exit Arts team of professional artists will be delivering inclusive, inspirational workshops and masterclasses with local schools to create artwork and lanterns for a community procession through the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College and Cutty Sark Gardens. All EEA Lanterns are created using natural biodegradable willow and paper, or found objects and recyclable materials.
The procession begins at 16:30 with a New Orleans Processional band leading them through the streets to the grand finale in Cutty Sark Gardens. Get your marching feet moving and join us on the day to follow the procession through the streets!
If your children's school isn't participating, we encourage you all to come along to Young Urban Arts Foundation multimedia bus at Cutty Sark Gardens on the 12th October to create a processional item or learn to dance and join the parade at 16:30. EEA artists will be on hand to get the creativity buzzing and help to build a lantern or piece of art for your child to join the procession and the YUAF tutors will be teaching street dance!
